Sunnyvale Auto Repair

This is a long overdue review. I do most of my own work on our cars, but there are things that go beyond my abilities - tire mounting/balancing, AC systems, alignment, etc. I have high standards and I have struggled to find a local independent shop that I trust. I have seen very poor work from a number of shops in the area. Enter Sunnyvale Foreign Car Services. I've brought a car there for AC work and a set of wheels for mounting/balancing (tires shipped directly from TireRack). Matt and Tom are always phenomenal to work with and I absolutely trust their genuine interest in making the right decision for the customer, getting to the bottom of the issue, and fixing it. As a bonus they are friendly to work with. It's never a good thing to need to go to an auto repair shop, but if you bring your car here you'll be treated well and in my experience everything will be done perfectly. Congrats on the move guys, and I'll be making an appointment soon for an alignment. Looking forward to working with you again!

I recently brought in my car after reading the great reviews that other customers had posted in regard to the work they've had done at Sunnyvale Foreign Car Service. As my car is just hitting the 150K mile mark, things do go wrong from time to time, and I was looking for a shop I could trust to keep the car running for as long as possible as I don't want to get rid of it if I don't have to (I love the car, even with its quirks). Matt and Tom were personable, professional, and very honest up front about the cost of the work and what they could do to help me (The driver seat frame in my G35 coupe had cracked and needed replacement). I can't stress enough how excellent the customer service and communication was. At most other shops I've found a need to call to follow up because of a lack of communication, but I was pleasantly surprised that Tom and Matt would call me with updates, and if they told me they'd call me back on a certain day, they would. They definitely under promised and over delivered on the turnaround time for the car, which I was really happy about. In all, the car was back with me two days after I dropped it off. Tom and Matt took the time to show me the part that was replaced when I picked it up while taking a final look and making sure the car was good to go. Service here is the full package. Though this was a costly repair, I felt good about trusting the car to them. I'm extremely happy with the service this shop provided to me, and though it's never fun when your car has a problem, I'd look forward to bringing the car back in and having Tom, Matt and their skilled team take a look at my car for regular preventative maintenance or any issues that may arise in future. Wonderfully refreshing to see a shop where the level of customer experience and satisfaction is put first. Thanks, guys.

Great service and prompt responsiveness. Also willingly stayed a few minutes after they closed so I could arrive and pick up car.

I am always able to get in right away. They explain everything to me so I understand what they are doing to my car and why. They also give me options to wait on things that are not critical, but I can know to monitor them and be prepared for the expense in the future. They staff is always friendly and polite. I don't live in Mountain View anymore, but it is worth the drive to go to a mechanic I trust.

I always get in right when I call and it is ready when they say it will be. They explain what work needs to be done and if there is work that needs to be done at some point in the future they give me the heads up so I can prepare and monitor the situation. Great service. I asked to bring my car in the next day, as I was worried about taking a trip. Matt not only got me in early, but had my car ready in an hour. He had advice about things to watch for and things that would probably be OK. Before this, I had taken my car exclusively to Lexus. Sunnyvale Auto is much more convenient. The process at Lexus to drop off a car is around 40 min., vs 5 min. at Sunnyvale Auto. The process to pick up your car is around 20 min. plus, vs 1 min. at Sunnyvale Auto.

Always honest, full of helpful information, and provide lots of thoughtful services as part of their standard package. Definitely earned my loyalty as a customer.
